Today I thought I would discuss how to use Social Media in business. First, a couple of statistics. As of 2019, close to 80% of the United States population has a social media account per Facebook, which is the largest social network, has over 2 billion users worldwide.

In 2019, 48.2% of Baby Boomers, 77.5% of Generation X, and 90.4% of Millennials actively use social media per Infographics.

Marketers were asked how effective they thought social media was for their businesses. 73% felt like it was either very effective or somewhat effective.

As you can see, social networking is here to stay. And, if you want to remain competitive, you need to learn how to use Social Media in business.

A key to profitability in the online world is getting traffic to your website. The higher the number of visitors you get to view your site, the more possible it is to convert that traffic into customers.

One of the goals in social networking is to grow your network of friends and family so that when you post to your timeline, a lot of people will see your post. Now, not everyone in your network will want to read your posts but, if you create interesting content, you can get a significant number of your network to view your posts.

Instagram is a social network aimed at sharing photos and videos from your smart devices with your followers. It is owned by Facebook and is similar in nature by allowing you to follow people, like their posts, comment on their pictures, and you can direct message them.

Instagram is starting to gain a foothold with businesses. Especially, if you have a visually appealing type of business such as travel, beauty, real estate, automotive, etc.

A beautician can show their clients a new hairstyle, a travel agent can post pictures of a resort they are promoting, or a real estate agent can showcase a new home they just listed.

If you feel that Instagram will work with your business, you should create pictures or videos that will work with all social media platforms to get the most value from you campaigns.
